I just retired at age 70. Modeling railroading has been on my bucket list for years. This layout has given me renewed inspiration and a lot of great ideas.

I stumbled across your layout while looking for ideas for me and my 8 yr old son to start our own. Imagine my surprise- We live in Arcadia!! Have always wanted to do a representation of the local line- including the train pier that ran out into Lake Michigan to load/unload the ships. Would love to model the dunes! Sad to see that the railroad was sold and moved to the northwest- though what a great layout you have created.

I know you are having fun, Layout looks great. Currently I do not have a layout but I am looking for ideas for a certain era.. I like the late 40's to the mid 50's. When I decide I will get into the rough work. I had N gauge last time and I have a lot of HO stuff and as you get older the trains need to get bigger at least for me.

Keep up the good work

Hello, Very nice job. I hope you don't mind but I would like to use some of your ideas. I am going to be modeling in HO. I have the same size room, 14' x 24' I'll be modeling The Klickintat branch with the SP&S Railway .Klickintat on the upper level and the SP&S main on the lower level. I don't plan to use a Helix either. I will try to get from one level to the other with a 2% grade and I hope I can get to work. I will be putting a lower level three under the center peninsula for staging. All I can say is your track plan has given me the right train of thought. Thank you, and again very nice job.

Simply the best model railway layout I have ever seen.
